Friends of Tri-Valley Foundation holds golf tournament at Fredonia Golf Club

What a great day! The Friends of Tri-Valley Foundation held their 23rd golf tournament at Fredonia Golf Club on Saturday, June 27th. After storms earlier in the morning, we could not have asked for a more perfect day to play 18 holes of golf. Play began at 9 am with twelve teams.

The tournament had two flights. The winners for A Flight were: 1st Place - the team of Kent Marr, Cooper Skinner, Albert Goullig, and Isaac Boone; and

2nd Place - the team of Kent Short, Jimmy Lairmore, Stan Short, and Mike Smith.

The winners for B Flight were: 1st Place – the team of Clint Vance, Travis Peck, Wayne Rehmert, and Jeff Harrell;

and 2nd Place - the team of Jerry Scott, Tim Woodcock, Ethan Woodcock, and Steve Osburne.

Along with the two flights, prizes were handed out for the Longest Drive (which went to Clint Vance) and Closet to the Pin (which went to Steve Osburne).

Door prizes were given out to several lucky golfers. The door prizes were given by local businesses as well as from Wichita area businesses. The big prize was a full-size Gatorade Cooler donated by Hugo’s Industrial Supply. Lunch was sponsored by Newkirk, Dennis & Buckles and was catered by AJ’s Pit BBQ.

All money raised from the event goes toward the Foundation’s mission of providing quality and affordable homes for our neighbors with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the eight counties of Allen, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson.

“Without the generosity of our communities, this fun event could not have been held. Thank you to all the golfers who participated as well as to our event sponsors: corporate, hole, and in-kind. It is friends like you that allow us to provide services to our neighbors with I/DD and to help them achieve the quality of life they seek. Thank you” stated Special Projects Coordinator, Tricia Campbell.

Our sponsors were: Newkirk, Dennis & Buckles; Bank of Commerce; Wilson Medical Center; Indy Print Services; Findley Pest Control; Neodesha Family Dentistry; and Wilson County Agency. Door prizes were donated by: Hugo's Industrial Supply; G & W Neodesha; Sign Design; Little Bear; Sonders; El Tapatio; Wilson County Medical Center; and Dry Creek Saloon.
