Friends of Tri-Valley Foundation Holds Annual Golf Tournament at Horizons @ Prairie Ridge Golf Cours

What a great day! The Friends of Tri-Valley Foundation held their annual golf tournament at Horizons at Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Erie, KS on Saturday, August 1st. The tournament was originally planned for May; however, due to COVID-19, it was postponed to August 1st. We could not have asked for a nicer day. August 1st was perfect golfing weather; a light breeze and temperatures in the lower 80’s. Play began at 9 am with fourteen teams.

The tournament had two flights. The winners for A Flight were: 1st Place - the team of Preston Page, Michael Page, Gavin Page, and Rowdy Kyser;

and 2nd Place - the team from Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center of Lance Chickadonz, Ryan Lopez, Andrew Gutschenritter, and Brandon Montgomery.

The winners for B Flight were: 1st Place – the team of Tyler Ray, Seth Hall, Andrew Whitaker, and Kody Kuhn;

and 2nd Place - the team of Wally Maples, John Cochran, George Fowler, and Scott Cochran.

Along with the two flights, prizes were handed out for the Longest Drive (which went to Gavin Page) and Closet to the Pin (which went to Brandon Montgomery). Players were given the opportunity to once again try their chances with the “Trouble” Hole In One game. New this year was the “Betcha Can’t Get on the Green” hole game.

Door prizes were given out to several lucky golfers. The door prizes were given by local businesses as well as from Wichita and Kansas City area businesses. The big prizes were a full-size Gatorade Cooler donated by Hugo’s Industrial Supply and a “Tow & Stow” hitch from B & W Trailer Hitches. Lunch was sponsored by Community National Bank and was catered by Horizons at Prairie Ridge restaurant.

All money raised from the event goes toward the Foundation’s mission of providing quality and affordable homes for our neighbors with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the eight counties of Allen, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson.

“Without the generosity of our communities, this fun event could not have been held. Thank you to all the golfers who participated as well as to our event sponsors: corporate, hole, and in-kind. It is friends like you that allow us to provide services to our neighbors with I/DD and to help them achieve the quality of life they seek. Thank you” stated Special Projects Coordinator, Tricia Campbell.
